Patient here presented with failed All on X. Radiographic assessment shows probable soft bone from the previously reduced crest extending to approximately 6mm anterior to the medial pterygoid plate.
Adequate tissue reflection was performed and pterygoid implant guide placed. Seating of the pterygoid guide implant guide was verified as very stable.
The pilot osteotomies were created through the guide tubes on each side with a 2mm diameter, 20mm length pilot drill.
Guide was removed and osteotomies were finished using Versah ZGO drills.
Implants were placed and torque of >30ncm was achieved at each implant site, respectively.
Surgeon was very happy with the result facilitated by the pterygoid implant guide, helping avoid quad zygomatic implant therapy and associated risks.
